Cocoa, toasted hazelnut, and red fruit in the fragrance make way for a pleasantly piquant cup that is marked by a tropical, pineapple-like acidity. A cocoa base cools to reveal a green grape character that we find in some of our favorite lots from Cajamarca.

A competition to find and highlight the greatest coffees from a given country of production, the Cup of Excellence competition has existed since 1999. This past year marked the competition’s second year in operation in Peru, and Passenger’s second time purchasing a COE winning lot from this amazing South American country.
